Building self-esteem is one of our goals at the Door County Young Adult Support Program. We believe that by providing “hands on” experiences for our young moms, we provide a beneficial lesson that gently moves them towards achieving immeasurable self-confidence.

With the help of community volunteers, we are able to provide one-on-one assistance for the young mothers regarding numerous experiences: infant and toddler care, cooking and nutritional education, parenting skills, continuing education, filling out job applications, hobbies, etc…

By providing a safe and respected environment for learning we assist at ultimately building a substantial knowledge base, community and parenting awareness, pride within themselves, a new found level of confidence that exceeds their previous abilities, a sense of independence and the self-admiration of setting and reaching achievable goals.
