Doula Student (DONA)
Hello! My name is Laurel Jessup and I have a profound
interest in assisting and supporting women and children. That is one of the reasons that I am working towards my certification
as a birth doula through DONA. I believe that all women should have choice, not only the choice of whether or not to
have children, but also how to have their children. I have been fascinated with psychology of birth for a long time;
the psychosocial and emotional phenomenon of birth is something that I feel needs special attention in our society/culture
today. I have a degree in Psychology and Women's and Gender studies form Northland College, Ashland, WI. I recently
moved back to Door County and am offering my services as a professional labor assistant toour community. Whatever the
birth experience that you are looking for may be, a doula can be of assistance to you and your family through informational,
emotional, physical, and partner support.
